Street Trees of Manhattan

Created for my “Introduction to Cartography” course at UW-Madison, this map was inspired by my interest in the relationship between cultural and natural landscapes. By visualizing the changing ecological landscape, I hoped to shed light on an aspect of the city that is often overlooked. Using a choropleth map to do this allowed me to highlight the differences across Manhattan's neighborhoods, and the nuances within New York's cultural landscape.
